The second Belador urban fantasy (see Blood Trinity) is an exciting thriller that once again makes the world of Kenyon-Love seems genuine with multiple species. Evalle is a terrific kick butt heroine while Brina and others show their trust of her by willing to put their neck on the line with the Tribunal. Although fans will get impatient with the Tribunal, the story line is filled with action and betrayal as Evalle knows when dealing with fickle superiors, deals tend to be flushed as excrement.

Love this series by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love. The last couple of books are only by Dianna Love and she does a wonderful job keeping the series and characters going. The most recent book has just come out and I have gone back to the first book and started re-reading the series from the beginning so that I remember the progression of the series and characters before getting into the new book. Can't wait to see what happens in the new book.
Ms. Kenyon (along with Ms. Love) has once again delivered a sterling piece of work! Upon completion of Book 1 (Blood Trinity), I immediately purchased Alterant, which in turn led me to the immediate purchase of The Curse (Book 3). That's how good the entire series has been so far! Read it - I promise, if you like fantasy, suspense, romance, battle, and magic, you will be very glad you did!
I am still drawn into this story line, hook, line and sinker! The plots, characters, character developments, inter"personal" relationships, action, majik, unbelievably well written plots, sub-plots, threads, . . . everything about this series is superb! I've been reading fiction/scifi/fantasy for 50+ years and this series has really captured my interest. So much so that I'm on to Book 3 right now!!
This series is one of the few I have preorder the next book. None of them have failed to keep me reading which is saying a lot as I usually bet bored with a series by book four.
Evalle is such a fighter and a good person. So many don't appreciate her. I'm rooting for her and hoping she gets to win the next round. I liked this book better than the first. Evalle is more personable and her pet is so touching and cute. I'm looking forward to more of her adventures.
Beladors Book Two

Evalle's meeting with the Tribunal does NOT go well. She is accused of freeing three Alterants and tasked with finding them or being locked up herself. Not only will she face the Tribunal's wrath if she fails, Brina will also pay the consequences. After being thrown into the jungle at the mercy of Tristan, Evalle begins searching for the Alterants who could save her. Meanwhile, the Medb sorceress, Kizira, is up to more sinister plans.

If you're looking for an urban fantasy series with kick, this is it!
I dunno..I guess I'm just stuck on Sherrilyn Kenyons "Dark Hunter" Series and expected this book to have a fraction of that kind of exciting romantic flavor..(even though it is co-written with D. Love). This book is nothing more than a unfinished foundation layout to upcoming books in the "Belador" Series. Plot is slow, drawn-out and tedious with little to no romance. Still, probably worth one's time [to read at least once] if you're "into" futuristic weirdness with no conclusion. The reader is led to believe something productive will occur between two of the main characters. However it's nothing but a devious and disappointing ploy to buy the next book in the series (in order to discover the conclusion to the characters in the FIRST book!) Makes one wonder if anything will become of the characters in the NEXT book! Or does one have to buy the third book in the series to still discover the outcome in the first! The ending is not only more than extremely disappointing but leaves you hanging until the next book comes out...Not good.
