Woman with male harem/reverse harem

It was supposed to be a routine mission to collect a pediatrician for the off-spring of the emerging cyborg nation. But rogue Cyborgs, Gideon, Jerico, and Gabriel realize fairly quickly that they have a unique opportunity to gain a mate/companion-Bronte. The rub is they weren't programmed for courtship. With no idea of how to woo the object of their desires, they fall back on the only skills they have to persuade her-their programming as pleasure bots.

Author Kaitlyn O’Connor was first published by Harlequin Enterprises in 1994 under the pen name of Madris Dupree after nearly a decade of ‘apprenticeship’ --struggling to learn the business, the marketing, and the writing skills necessary for a career in commercial fiction. That ‘first’ published book, a historical, (which was actually her fourth attempt at a marketable piece of fiction) was successful, however, selling nearly 80,000 copies in the U.S., Switzerland, France, and the U.K. She writes various genres (or sub-genres since she always writes romance!) under different pen names. She has written science fiction/futuristic/fantasy under several—Kaitlyn O’Connor, in honor of her Scottish grandmother, Lyssa Hart, and Angelique Anjou (for the French ancestry), all combined here now under the single pen name Kaitlyn O’Connor.

The first part of the book I didn't care for as Gideon, Gabriel, and Jerico are sent on a mission to Earth to kidnap a pediatrician to care for the Cyborg infants. They end up kidnapping Bronte the daughter of the doctor they were initally going to get who just happens to be a pediatrician too. They grab Bronte against her will and take her to their small ship and head for home which takes weeks. Bronte ends up being seduced and having sex with two of the Cyborgs. I am never fond of a situation where the female is taken against her will and kept prisoner and used sexually even if it isn't rape. She is still a prisoner no matter if she participates in the sex. Being a prisoner in close quarters with your jailers just tips the balance of power all to the jailers and being used for sex just makes it worse no matter how the Cyborgs feel toward Bronte. The second half of the book was much more enjoyable for me as Gideon, Gabriel and Jerico save her life and care for her. They show how much they love, cherish and value her putting them in a much better light. I ended up giving this book 3.5 stars as the low score I would give for the first part of the book is brought up by the second part of the book. There is also humor with how they deal with disputes and their competition for her affection. Attraction, love and sex is all new to them as they try their best to get Bronte to agree to contract with them.

Cyberevolution VI Cyborg Nation edition by Kaitlyn O'Connor Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This is the best of the best. Both of the cyborg series and what I have read by this author (and I have read several). What I loved about this book was that the heroine was a strong character (not with the usual pathetic background you find in these romances) and the story line developed over time so that it became completely understandable why she would fall in love with 3 guys. The best part was the humor which I was so not expecting!

I'm not sure I have ever given a book 5 stars. At most I've given 4 1/2 in the past, but this book really did it for me!
I confess I bought this book because it was only 99 cents. However, I LOVE this book!

It's a very typical mix of the kidnapped and cyborg genres mixed together. Humans make cyborgs so awesome they rebel and flee the planet, then come back for humans to help them. Enter Bronte, human pediatrician, who is kidnapped by Gideon, Gabriel and Jericho. On the long flight home confusion on the parts of both parties abound and it makes for some very funny moments. The cyborgs response to Bronte's human nature is very typical of men in general and that makes it even funnier.

My only complaint is that there was a lot of internal dialogue from Bronte. I've discovered this is not uncommon with the author and that's just how her books are written and that's fine, but after a while it would be nice to get out of the character's head and into the action. I don't mind knowing what a character is thinking, but I don't need chapters and chapters about it.

This has quirked my interest in the series and I'll be looking forward to reading the whole series. A fun romp with some great sex scenes, lots of misunderstandings that prove that robots are really just men, too, and that in the end love really can build bridges between different races.
I enjoyed this story. The internal dialogue the heroine goes through gets to be a bit much - its a characteristic of this author's style though. The sexual encounters always happened in something of a big rush too which didn't help with relationship development. While this is the first of her Cyborg series I've read - I didn't find it difficult to pick it up mid-series. The world build was somewhat sketchy but reminiscent of the other Cyborg worlds created in the scifi/romance genre so I didn't feel unfamilar with it. There were some action scenes but no real surprises.
By the end, I found these Cyborg heroes to be quite charming but I understand where some of the criticism of them not having distinct personalities early on comes from. Gabriel is the sweetest one and might just be my favorite.

Without spoiling anything, I wish Bronte had been bit less passive at times. She's a bit inconsistent as a character. I also didn't feel like this was a true menage despite multiple people being in the relationship.

Overall this was somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars for me.
Reread 2nd read. Another wonderful book. I love how the cyborgs are really teenagers in men's bodies. They're learning as they go and it's so sweet how they try things
that only make sense to them. This is such a great series! One of my favorites.

Review 06/26/11 Great book! It was funny and a little sad, but mostly romantic and funny. [ Bronte is kidnapped by 3 of the older model cyborgs, who have no social skills at all but a very active sex drive. The problem is none of the cyborg ladies want them because they're not new and improved. Bronte is a pediatrician who they want in their new colony. The guys look at this as a chance to sex her into agreeing to be their mate (2 to 4 male mates per female is the law). She overhears them and their acting like their convincing her is a military exercise. They have no idea what they're doing and when one of the guys looks like he's making a little progress, the others have to beat the shit out of them. At first this scares her, but it happens so often where they have to "inventory", "reorganize", "distribute" that she gets used to it. They finally do convince her right before their spaceship wrecks and now she finds out what they are fantastic at, protecting her and surviving. Loved these guys, loved how Bronte realizes that they really are trying their best and as they are evolving the guys are having a hard time with all the new emotions. I think this is my favorite so far.
